Rigg Scholars of 2014-2015: Spencer Quong

Acrylic on canvas. A rainy day in the busy city.

Spencer Quong is one of 2014’s Rigg Scholars. Spencer is talented in drawing and painting, though his favourite form of art is charcoal on paper. One of his charcoal works features a person’s body lying in water, with the face slightly exposed.

“You can do a lot with charcoal. It is a simple tool that’s low maintenance, using little tools to make big differences.” says Spencer.

Based on Spencer’s artistic and technical skills, as well as his leadership in the art room, he was able to receive a Rigg Scholarship this year. You can find Spencer’s pieces in the Opus, as well as his online art gallery.
