Saints musicians in VYSO

A look at the VYSO 2013-2014 season poster

Unknown to many people, St. George’s students play an important role within the outside musical community, particularly in the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO). Of the many players in the VYSO, the Saints students consist of Steven Hao, Daniel Go, Nicholas Lim, Louis Wei, David Cheng, Zachary Masri, Frank Zheng, Frank Lee and Jack Zhang. Mr. Roger Cole, the Artistic Director of the VYSO and principal Oboe player in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, said, “The VYSO is proud to have a large number of St. George’s musicians in our orchestra.” Next Sunday, Nov. 24, the VYSO will be performing an exciting repertoire consisting of works by Hector Berlioz and Cesar Franck, and it will be taking place on Nov. 24, at 7:30pm at Kay Meek Theatre, in West Vancouver. Mr. Cole also said, “We would be thrilled to see you at our next concert.” Let’s try to support our Saints Musicians outside of School by attending their orchestra concerts!
