Today, the Grade 12 Lifers headed to the Junior School to continue the tradition of taking “Lifer Photos,” a 12-year-later “all grown-up” edition of their Grade 1 class photos. The boys were positioned in the Junior School library, a location consistent with the original Grade 1 class photos, and asked to replicate the same row-standing arrangements for visual accuracy. The school invited the 1EW teacher, Ms. Wong, back to ensure photo accuracy. Unfortunately, the 1JD teacher, Ms. Delaney, could not join them because she lives out of town. Ms. Roberts, the Junior School principal, told the boys that the tradition began with the lifers’ desire to visit the school in their senior year and has been formally in place ever since.

Kayden Kusumoto, Staff Writer
As a lifer entering his senior year at St. George’s, Kayden is excited to capture and document many emotionally evocative moments, both within and outside the school. With a passion for photojournalism and witnessing its decline in modern-day media, he recognizes the importance of visual storytelling to combat the collapse of public trust due to AI. He hopes to cover honest perspectives from varying standpoints and go on a few adventures telling investigative journalism stories around the school. One of his favourite hobbies is writing Letterboxd movie reviews, and he hopes to carry on that passion to all corners of Journalism in a more professional context.
