From Heartbreak to Redemption—The 1st XI soccer team catch their breath after a 1-0 win against VC

Thursday, October 26th — After a tough 5-0 loss, the 1st XI takes on VC once again, this time at home. Assistant team captain Chris Chan 24’ commented before the game that he hoped that the team could “redeem themselves in this game” and that “this game is crucial for our team’s confidence”.

The game kicked off at 4:00 on Mortensen Field. It was nail-bitingly close yet the score was still 0-0 at half. After a strong team cheer, the second half began. The score continued to be tied until the 15th minute, when Brady Andrews 25’, assisted by Jayden Thompson 24’, scored the goal that would win them the game 1-0.

Coach Shepp, the 2nd XI Head Coach, who was on the sidelines helping out the 1st team, remarked that the game was “very evenly fought throughout” and that he was “proud of the result that the boys produced”.

Let’s cheer on the boys next Tuesday when they face Handsworth!
