The Journalism 12 class with Darcy Matheson and Simran Singh of The Daily Hive

Last week, the Journalism 12 class had the pleasure of visiting the Daily Hive’s Robson office and meeting editor-in-chief Darcy Matheson and national news writer Simran Singh. During this deep dive into the world of contemporary journalism, the class learned about the daily routines of a full-time journalist: from finding a balance in a digitalized life to always pitching for the right story, it isn’t just your average 9-5 job. Though the Daily Hive might seem like just another office building on the bustling street of Robson, inside, it’s the kaleidoscopic hub of Vancouver’s pop culture. “They had a very enticing workspace”, remarks Benjie Baker 25′, a fellow classmate.
