Grade 8s read with their buddies.

On Wednesday, November 16th the Grade 8s partook in the annual Reading Bear initiative. The grade was split into students going to Admiral Seymour Elementary and Strathcona Elementary. At the schools, the St. George’s students read and also connected with younger students. Kayden Singh reflects on the Reading Bear experience as “a great chance to take on a leadership role, considering Grade 8s don’t often have opportunities like this.” Overall, establishing a connection with our Grade 8s and the Vancouver community is a foot in for these students to get involved with other service opportunities.  Over the course of the year, the Grade 8s will return for more visits with their buddies.
