On Thursday, November 3rd, a number of St. George’s students spent the day at Rogers Arena to take part in the annual WE Day celebration. WE day is an youth event put on by Free the Children and is held across the world for students who have taken action to better both their community and the world as a whole. This year the event involved more than 20,000 young people from a number of schools across BC. In addition to those students who participated, one St. George’s students did more than simply attend. Grade 12, Conor Entwistle took to the stage to talk about Aboriginal Rights, saying afterwards that “I have a strong interest and passion for indigenous rights and it was an awesome opportunity to speak to other youth in hopes I can maybe inspire others to show attention and get informed on what is a very prominent issue”. We Day continues to be a popular event among high school students, and it is once again clear by the success of this year’s event in Vancouver.weday
