Varisty Basketball’s Opening Night

Wednesday, November 29, 2023—Dixon Gym was packed with a sea of spectators for the Varsity basketball team’s first home game of the season. After winning first place at the CAIS competition in Montreal just a few weeks ago, the boys were ready to protect home court in a head-to-head matchup against Walnut Grove Secondary School. Tip-off was at 3:30 PM and the game did not disappoint.

The game went back and forth and the score was practically even until the boys went on a run in the final 5 minutes of the second quarter. They went into halftime up 42-25. From there, the team never looked back and won the game in convincing fashion, 86-66. It’s been an incredibly positive start to the season so far and with upcoming tournaments in Washington and Langley, the future is looking bright. We wish the team the best of luck for the remainder of the season!
