Crushing Defeat—2nd Varsity Soccer Team Beaten at Home

This Wednesday, the 25th of October, the St. George’s 2nd Varsity Soccer Team hosted West Point Grey Academy. Having had an up-and-down season, the team was looking for a big win as their season approached its end. Unfortunately, they were going up against a tough WPGA First Varsity Team.

Both teams came out strong, and the game was tied at zero after one half. At halftime, Alan McLachlan 24′, the starting right-back, mentioned that he was “proud of the effort and commitment that the boys were demonstrating on the defensive side,” and that he would “like to see more offence in the second half from the guys up front.”

The second half did not go as planned. WPGA put more effort into their offence, and the goals began to stack up. The game ended 5-0 for the visitors. While Saints didn’t come out on top, there were some moments where the game could have gone either way.

On to the next one!
