The Return of Investment Club Alumni Devan Dass
On Friday November 6th 2015, Georgian, Devan Dass came to St. George’s, to give a presentation to the current Investment Club members at the school. He talked to the student’s about university and potential career’s the investment club can lead one to in the world of business.
Devan graduated from St. George’s in 2012, and is currently in his 4th year completing an undergraduate degree in the Sauder School of Business at U.B.C. He was an active member of the Investment Club and in one of his years at St. George’s, he won the stock contest. The club keeps running the stock contest every year.
In the presentation Devan discussed the different branches of the capital market. He told the students that there were two sides to the capital market. Devan talked to the the students about the two sides of the capital markets, and also discussed what on should expect in their first few years working at a firm.
Vice president of the club, Andrew Mo (11), had this to say about the presentation, “Devan’s presentation was incredibly informative, shedding light on the reality of the financial sector. Listening to a past member speak about his success and challenges in the industry was an enlightening experience for all of our members. The club executives would like to thank Devan for taking time out of his busy schedule to share his expertise with the club!”
