Today, on April 26th, St. George’s celebrates St. George’s Day, “the feast day of Saint George and celebrated by various Christian churches and by the several nations, kingdoms, countries, and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint.”
The school began the celebration with a special assembly, followed by some sweet treats such as chocolate croissants, courtesy of Headmaster Dr. Matthews. The school then shifted focus onto the field, with a barbecue lunch and several rugby games. Many students felt that the event really brought the community together, celebrating the event while raising school spirit.
Celebrating St. George’s Day has become a new tradition at the school, and we look forward to seeing more positive impacts this event creates in the community!
