Deep Cove Rowing Regatta 2014
On September 28 2014, the St. George’s Junior A and B rowing teams competed in the Deep Cove Classic at North Vancouver. The competition included teams from all over the lower mainland. Both St. George’s teams competed in the Men’s eight, quad, and double events. All events were 5.5 km. Races commenced after a 2 hour fog delay.
In the Mens Eight event, one of the St. George’s Junior A boats captured first place with a time of 17:18.49. Meanwhile, the other Junior A boat came third and the Junior B eight came fourth with 17:56.81 and 18:34.09 times respectively.
In the Mens Doubles, St. George’s came in third place with a time of 20:54.09.
Furthermore, 4 Junior B quads came 6th, 8th, 9th, and 11th in their event.
Overall, the St.George’s teams performed extremely well and are proud with their results.
The rowing teams will now turn their focus towards the Head of the Fraser Fours, taking place October 5 at the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse in Richmond, BC.
