Our Sons of Ulster Debut At The Drama Provincials!

Categories:

The Saint’s senior Drama class had the pleasure of attending and performing at the annual BC Provincial Drama Festival on May 2-5! The class’s show, Observe The Sons of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme, an Irish play originally written by Frank McGuinness, debuted on the opening night. Student actor’s Ben Isac 24’ and Taggart Van Beek 25’ both took home Outstanding Actor awards, while Liam Hughes 24’ received a special scholarship for his theatrical work! The BC Drama Festival is the gathering of the province’s best student-led troupes. Participants must compete in a preliminary zone festival to get an opportunity to gather with such a range of talented actors and technicians with the common goal of sharing their work! Throughout the weekend, the boys were given the opportunity to receive adjudication from Canadian playwright John Lazarus while attending numerous theatre-based workshops and other student productions.
