Cory Richards: Exploring the world through One image at a time
What do you see when you gaze upon a photograph? A person? An object? Through Cory Richard’s eyes, he doesn’t just see the subject itself: but rather the back-story and the deeper connection of the subject he is capturing. Cory is an outdoors enthusiast, photographer, film-maker, and climber. He came to St. George’s as Art Week was coming to a close. During his time at Saints, he held many workshops in classrooms which were overflowing (literally) with both students and staff. One of the many feats Cory has accomplished is his ascent on Gasherbrum II during the winter on February 2, 2011. He was the first person to successfully summit the mountain during the winter and that was where his most famous photo was taken, a selfie (See Photo 5). Please enjoy and fascinate yourselves with this Q&A session with Cory Richards.
