Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, apply digital filters to them, and share them on a variety of social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr.

As of February 2013, Instagram had 100 million active users. Many celebrities have profiles on Instagram, sharing photos and videos of their personal and professional lives with fans. 

Instagram has developed alot over the last 4 years since its release in 2010. They have added an option of applying twenty different filters to photos, hashtags, and in their most recent updates a video and direct messaging feature.

In December 2013, Instagram added a feature named Instagram Direct that allows users to send photos only to a specific user or group of users, rather than having it be viewable by all. This was viewed as a response to the popularity of services like Snapchat.

TC: How long have you had an Instagram account for?

JK: A couple months. I’d ballpark around 4 months or so.

TC: How often do you use Instagram? (i.e. Posting photos, viewing photos)?

JK: I don’t spend that much time on Instagram honestly. I browse through the photos 2-3 times a day and I don’t post pictures myself that often. I usually post a picture… maybe once every 2-3 weeks, and that’s kinda pushing it

TC: What do you like most about Instagram?

JK: I think the major selling points of Instagram are the photo filters.

TC: How do you feel about the app’s development throughout the years?

JK: I wouldn’t know about the app’s development through the years, since I’ve only had it for a couple months. I guess all I can say is that it’s gotten more popular.

TC: Instagram has added filters, hash tags and most recently a video feature. How have these updates affected your Instagram experience?

JK: Well, if it wasn’t for those features, I wouldn’t have gotten Instagram in the first place

HW: i have had an instagram account for about 1 year

TC:  What do you like most about Instagram?

HW: i enjoy taking photos and making them look better with the cool filters

TC: How do you feel about the app’s development throughout the years?

HW: i think the app has changed nicely over the years, and videos are a nice feature. I havent made an instagram video before, but i enjoy the feature
