For the first time since 2011, the entire continent of North America will be able to witness a rare lunar eclipse (weather permitting) also known as a “Blood Moon”. The event will begin at approximately 11pm, but it may take over an hour to finally observe the eclipse in all its glory. What’s more, tonight’s sighting is the first of four consecutive lunar eclipses in what is known as a “tetrad”. The other three will occur at roughly six-month intervals: Oct. 8, 2014, April 4, 2015, and Sept. 28, 2015. Apparently this cosmic anomaly won’t happen again for another twenty years, so be sure to catch at least one of these amazing night-sky scenes!
