Dragon’s Lair is a Grade 10 business competition in which talented students present prototypes of inventions and seek investments from Dragons–past Saints alumni who have achieved success in various fields. I was part of the crew, and operated the lighting board during the entire show on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

It might look confusing, but in reality, it was just saving a few ‘looks’ during rehearsal, and changing the scene based on what was happening on stage. Most of the time, I was able to just enjoy the product proposals. There were some genuinely cool presentations, like when Ziming Wang brought an entire race kart onto the stage.

The food was also fantastic. We had the second best Sodexo meal I’ve ever had, featuring mini beef and crispy chicken burgers, and an assortment of fruits, sides, and drinks.

At the end, the judges had a meeting to make the final decision, and Yale Sky was announced the winner of this year’s Dragon’s Lair. He was awarded $2500 from the judging panel. Congratulations!
