How to Prepare for B.C. Shake Out Day
Over 53 million people worldwide will be participating in the 2016 Shake Out Day, including over 750,000 in the province of BC. St. George’s will be participating once again, and they will be practicing proper earthquake technique. Many people may be uneducated when it comes to proper earthquake etiquette, and Shake Out Day is out to change that. Vancouver is located in an area that is very suspect to earthquakes, and having the proper knowledge to stay safe during an earthquake could be very important. Over 3000 earthquakes happen every year in British Columbia. Shake Out Day attempts to teach people to stop, drop, and roll. Shake Out Day originated in 2008, but started in British Columbia in 2011, and has become more and more popular every year.
